Harambee Stars news: Wanyama, Mandela join camp

Harambee Stars and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama has joined the national team camp in Machakos.

Defender Brian Mandela, who plies his trade in South Africa, also joined camp on Saturday, three days after arriving in the country. Their arrival is expected to boost the team spirit as the Stars prepare to battle Sierra Leone in Freetown in the first leg match of 2019  African Cup of Nation qualifiers on June 13.

Wanyama had an impressive season with Tottenham featuring immensely as the Spurs finished second in the English Premier League campaign behind winners Chelsea. At the same time, China-based striker Michael Olunga and the rest of foreign legion are expected in camp by Monday.

The team is scheduled to have an evening workout at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday after Saturday`s rest.
