Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ryan Scott Anderson are expanding their family!

On Tuesday, Blanchard, 32, announced that the couple had adopted a puppy named Pixie.

In an Instagram video titled “New Puppy Mom,” Blanchard showed off the dog, an 8-week-old Malchi puppy, to her over 8 million followers.

“I want to introduce you guys to someone very special,” she began the video, and held the tiny, black-and-white pup up to the camera. “She is a sweetheart and she’s already spoiled rotten.”

After putting Pixie back down so she could sleep, Blanchard revealed that she and Anderson had adopted her about three nights ago.

“We went to PetSmart, bought everything she could possibly need,” she recalled, before showing a picture of the pup sleeping on her new bed on her first night in their home.

She then showed a photo of where Pixie ended up “by the end of the night” — in bed with Blanchard, where she quickly took over “my side of the bed, like she owns it.”

“I had like that much part of the bed,” she added with a laugh, motioning to a tiny spot.

"Right now I just wanted to get something that we both can kind of have, to take care of and just have as an addition to the family,” Blanchard said of the pup. “We’re not ready to have a baby yet, so this was like the next best thing.”

For those hoping for more Pixie content already, Blanchard assured her followers that there are “many many more puppy videos and pictures” to come, adding that “any tips on potty training would be great!”

Blanchard, a Munchausen by proxy syndrome victim, married Anderson, a Louisiana teacher, while she was in prison for her role in the murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.

Since her release from prison last month after serving eight of 10 years, the couple has been open about wanting to expand their family.

Before her release, Blanchard told PEOPLE she has goals of starting a family and having kids. Since she had a fraught relationship with her own mother — and never lived with her father, Rod, and stepmother, Kristy — she said people have questioned what kind of mother she'll be, which has hurt her feelings.

"Whenever someone says, ‘Do you think that because of what you went through, you're going to do that to your kids?’ And I said, ‘You know what? Absolutely not. I have learned what not to do,’ " she told PEOPLE.

Blanchard also cited Anderson's mother and her own stepmother as strong women she can model her parenting after.

"I have other mother figures that are around in my life, friends that are mothers," she told PEOPLE. "So I have a lot of good people around me to pull advice from when that time comes. I don't think that there's going to be a manual that says, ‘You've won mom of the year,’ but I definitely have no concerns about, I think, my parenting when it comes to that time."
