'Only got herself to blame': Dasha's fiery Aus Open exit
A “wild” Daria Gavrilova has imploded in her first round match at the Australian Open – crashing out of the tournament on Tuesday.
‘Dasha’ made her earliest Australian Open exit in four years after being bounced out in the opening round by Tamara Zidansek from Slovenia.

The feisty Gavrilova had reached the last 16 at Melbourne Park in 2016 and 2017 but there was to be no repeat this year as she bowed out 7-5 6-3 in one hour and 44 minutes on Tuesday.
Gavrilova had opportunities to take the ascendancy in the opening set but squandered a staggering 13 break point opportunities, including one where her opponent was 0-40 down on serve.
Ultimately, Zidansek took the set – and with it all the momentum – prompting a fiery racquet smash from the Aussie that led to a warning.
The Aussie never seemed to regather her composure, suffering from a litany of unforced errors to eventually crash out in straight sets.

Daria Gavrilova drops the first set to Tamara Zidansek, 7-5, throws her racquet and storms off the court.
Given she won just 1 of 14 break points, and had 24 unforced errors, she's only got herself to blame.#AusOpen.

Well played Tamara

Zidansek advanced to a second-round clash against either reigning US Open champion Naomi Osaka or or Poland’s Magda Linette.
