Golfer strips off to play shot out of water hazard

American golfer Shawn Stefani went all out to save his round at the Honda Classic, stripping down to his underwear to play a shot on the 6th hole.

The 35-year-old Texas was one over the cut line with four holes to go in Florida when he hit his drive into the water.

But Stefani could see his ball and felt he still had a shot, so he lost his clothes and went in.

He clearly wanted to save his outfit from getting wet, so he stripped down to his underwear to do it.

He managed to salvage a bogey but fell just short of making the cut.

A late stumble on the notoriously difficult Bear Trap stretch robbed Adam Scott of momentum on day two of his title defence.

The world No.7 climbed up the leaderboard during the second round before dropping three shots across the 16th and 17th holes to sign for a one-under-par 69.

Scott's three-under total leaves him six shots adrift of the lead at nine under, set by Americans Ryan Palmer and Wes Bryan.
