The Toho Studios-produced movie will be released in the United Kingdom and Ireland on December 15, and will be distributed by Anime Ltd.
The film, which is the 33rd flick featuring the giant reptilian monster from Toho, is unconnected with the Warner Bros. cinematic universe of films featuring Godzilla like Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs. Kong.
It is the 37th film in the overall Godzilla franchise, and was premiered in Japan on October 18. It will be released in the US and Canada from December 1, exactly a month after featuring as the closing title of the Tokyo International Film Festival on November 1.
The film's official synopsis reads: "After the war, Japan's economic state has been reduced to zero. Godzilla appears and plunges the country into a negative state."
A trailer for Godzilla Minus One was released in September and confirmed as much; shots of Godzilla wreaking havoc across the country featured the monster flinging an entire ship across a city, crushing hundreds of people below a scaly foot and even sinking a warship.
The film is directed and written by Takashi Yamazaki, who has also provided visual effects.
TV-wise, the Apple TV+ series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will see Kurt and Wyatt Russell appear together in the 10-episode, multi generational saga.
The show's synopsis teases that "two siblings, following in their father's footsteps, uncover their family's connection to the secretive organisation known as Monarch."
Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters will stream on Apple TV+
Godzilla Minus One will release in cinemas in the UK on December 15.
