A 14-year-old player has allegedly exposed himself to a female referee in a story that’s angered the football world.

Giulia Nicastro, 22, was officiating a youth match in Mestre, Italy when the shocking incident allegedly occurred.

According to Sport Mediaset, the player lowered his shorts and taunted the referee with sexist abuse after disagreeing with a decision.

She then proceeded to show him a red card, which sparked more vile abuse from the side’s fans.

Reports suggest around 20 spectators hurled shocking abuse at the official, but they refused requests to leave the area.

The club later apologised.

"We have already apologised to the organising company,” the Treporti coach said.

"The same will be done to the referee we are trying to contact."

Nicastro, who is the girlfriend of Napoli star Stefano Moreo, is said to be very shaken by the horrible incident.

The story has made international headlines, with widespread condemnation aimed at the player.
