Artie Beetson's passing in 2011 shook the country. Involved in many clubs during his lengthy rugby league career, Beetson had a fervent passion for the sport and is certainly one of the greats.

Plenty of Australia's biggest sporting identities have an Indigenous background. Here's just a few names that have left their mark on the sporting world.
only one way to describe mundine a total muslim scumbag
buddy franklin before peter matera, gotta be kidding.
Just to add to my previous post..why isn't "Chicken George" on the list? Didn't he achieve enough?
Whew, just for a moment I thought the Big Fulla missed out too, but he was there and just as well. It ain't a list without Big Artie. I agree with Lumwana Chris tho. No Polly Farmer or Sid Jackson and from league, no John "Chicka" Ferguson and what about the "Black Flash", Larry Corowa? I think they tried too hard to get as many sports on the list instead of aiming for the best sports people.
Totally agree with Lumwana Chris! Prolly Farmer changed the game of AFL. To not have him in there is a travesty! BTW Cyril Rioli would be a good inclusion.
No Polly Farmer - who is the numbnut who wrote this drivel?? Out of this list i would reckon 5 would be in everybody else's top 20
