When Australia needed a hero after their disappointing effort in the pool, Sally Pearson took all the pressure on her shoulders and delivered. The moment of her crashing to the ground after winning the 200m hurdles final was symbolic of how much the win not only meant to her but to the nation.

    Hmmmmm..... I didn't realise the 200m hurdles was an Olympic event....... I was much more familiar with the 100m hurdles (for women)........ Editorial responsibility anyone.....?!

    Usain Bolt's 9.63 seconds in the Olympics 100m sprint finals is not a world record. 9.59 is the world record Bolt set in Berlin in 2009. Someone needs to brush up on their facts here
