Galatasaray are close to agreeing a double deal for Tottenham pair Tanguy Ndombele and Davinson Sanchez but face a race to complete the signings in time to register them in their Champions League squad.

The Turkish champions have agreed a loan deal for Ndombele which includes a purchase option at the end of the season and the France international is set to travel to Istanbul on Monday to wrap up a move, having completed the first part of his medical in London.

Galatasaray are also close to agreeing a package worth just shy of €15million (£12.8m) for Sanchez on a permanent deal.

Both players must be registered by 11pm UK time on Monday night in order to be included in Galatasaray’s squad for the Champions League group stage, after the Super Lig club booked their place with a play-off win over Norwegian side Molde last week. They are therefore rushing to wrap up the moves on Monday afternoon.

The departure of Sanchez will leave Spurs short of centre-back cover, with Eric Dier, Ben Davies and 18-year-old summer signing Ashley Phillips left as back-ups to first-choice pair Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven until at least January.

But the Colombian had entered the final year of his contract and his departure has been sanctioned by head coach Ange Postecoglou.

Ndombele, a £55m club-record signing in summer 2019, is yet to be included in a matchday squad under Postecoglou and a move to Galatasaray would be his third loan in as many seasons, after mixed stints with former club Lyon and Serie A winners Napoli.
