French star's incredible act of humility in victory celebrations
In a humbling act, Steven N’Zonzi had to ask his French teammates to hand the World Cup trophy to N’Golo Kante just so the “shy” midfielder could get a photo with the prized cup.
Kante was seen patiently waiting behind all of the French players for his moment, and seemingly struggling to get a turn with the cup.
Up stepped N’Zonzi, who ensured the Chelsea midfielder got his moment of glory – even before he had his own photo opportunity.
BOLT SHOCK: Is Usain Bolt set for a shock A-League move?
The incredible act of humility had football fans around the world appreciating the modesty of N’Golo Kante, even though he had just won a World Cup.
Kante got one pic with the World Cup. Read Nzonzi had to ask for it so he could take a pic coz he was just shy and didnt want to take moments away from other players. This is a first team player who helped them get to a final and win it. Unreal. This guy is class honestly

Hearing that Kante was too shy to ask the players to hold the #worldcup trophy just shows how much of a lovely lad he is

Apparently N’Golo Kanté was too shy to ask his teammates if he could hold the World Cup so he asked Steven N’Zonzi if he could ask them if he could hold it. I know he plays for Chelsea but I love him. 😂

NGolo Kanté having to ask Nzonzi if he can hold the World Cup trophy for a photo has to be one of the best stories of the tournament.
Absolutely perfect professional footballer and one of the best CDMs of all time.

During France’s 4-2 victory over Croatia, Steven N’Zonzi was actually the man who replaced N’Golo Kante in the 55th minute of the final – making the moment even more significant.
The 27-year-old has secured his position as on of France’s key midfielders, and combined with Paul Pogba, the French have never lost a game when the two have both started a match.
Kante had an impressive tournament for the French, and was vital in helping to lift their first World Cup trophy in 20 years.
