Foy scores twice as Glentoran beat Lisburn Rangers

Glentoran captain Jessica Foy scored twice as they beat Lisburn Rangers 3-0 in the Women's Premiership on Sunday.

Foy struck in each half, with Sarah Tweedie adding a third to seal the victory at the Blanchflower Stadium.

Glentoran are now three points behind leaders Cliftonville in the race for the Women's Premiership title.

Lisburn Rangers are fourth, level on points with third placed Linfield.

It was cagey start to the game, with chances at a premium for both sides.

Captain Foy eventually broke the deadlock on 38 minutes with a fine individual effort to give the Glens a slender half-time lead.

She doubled their advantage soon after the restart, reacting quickest when a loose ball broke to her in the box to volley home.

Tweedie added a third just after the hour mark, getting the decisive touch after a scramble in the box.

Glentoran are away to Larne in their next game on Friday night whilst Lisburn travel to Solitude to face Cliftonville next Sunday.
