Mikel Arteta’s side are unbeaten across all competitions so far this campaign, even if performances have been unconvincing at times. Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka will miss out tonight, with Emile Smith Rowe set to be handed a rare start.

Liverpool won this competition in the second before last but went down to foes Manchester City last term, and tonight face a Leicester team who were relegated in May but are flying high in the Championships with sevens win from eight games. Liverpool’s form is also nothing to be sniffed at, though.
Chelsea captain Reece James faces a ban after being charged by the Football Association for using “insulting or abusive” language towards a referee. The incident happened after Sunday’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa, in which James was not involved due to injury. The match official was Jarred Gillett, who James is said to have confronted in the tunnel after the game which Chelsea lost thanks to Ollie Watkin’s late goal.
