Man Utd to up bid for Arsenal striker Van Persie today August 6, 2012, 11:05 pm

Manchester United could make a new bid for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie today.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson remains in Manchester to oversee this week's transfer business - which includes Van Persie.

United are now favourites and are expected to come back but Arsenal still have doubts as to whether they will match their price because Ferguson may have concerns over van Persie's age, injury record and the fact that he will have no resale value.

Arsenal will sell if the right offer comes in because they cannot risk him leaving for free next summer but the chances of the Dutch striker at least starting the campaign at the Emirates are increasing.

Man U has no money left to buy a high profile player simply because the wage will be a problem. They talk talk and talk big names while their hands are tied.
