Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani is considering his options at Anfield.
Aquilani, who is under contract with the Premier League side until June 2014, played on loan at AC Milan this season.
"We had a meeting with English executives but for the time being, nothing has emerged," said Aquilani's agent Franco Zavaglia to ilsussidiario.net.
"We expect a response from Liverpool which should arrive within the week."
Reports in Italy claimed this week the 27-year-old could terminate his contract with Liverpool before joining Milan permanently, something which Zavaglia has vehemently denied.
"There is absolutely no possibility that Aquilani can become a free agent in order to then decide what to do," Zavaglia added.
"I don't know if he wants to stay at Milan, we shall see. We just have to wait and see what happens and what Liverpool decides."
