Mooy, Behich among solid Aust performers

HOW THE SOCCEROOS PLAYERS RATED IN THEIR 4-1 LOSS TO NORWAY IN OSLO:

Mat Ryan - Made a good early one-on-one save and could do little about three of the four goals. However, his awful pass intended for Mile Jedinak gifted Norway a 3-1 lead - 5

Bailey Wright - In an unaccustomed right-back role and endured a torrid evening against highly rated Basel winger Mohamed Elyounoussi. Withdrawn after 52 minutes - 4

Milos Degenek - Solid in the air but too keen to pass the ball sidewards or back to the goalkeeper instead of trying to build from the back - 5

Mark Milligan - A game to forget for the veteran who started the match at centre-back and moved to right-back in the second half. Easily by-passed for Norway's first and fourth goals - 4

Aziz Behich - One of the few players who can hold their head high. Linked up well on occasions with Dimitri Petratos and never shirked his defensive duties. Had he not lost his footing during Norway's first goal, he may well have blocked Ola Kamara's shot - 7

Dimitri Petratos - The Newcastle Jets man didn't let anyone down on debut and tried to get things going in attack. Small signs of promise. Withdrawn 74 mins - 6

Aaron Mooy - On a disappointing night, the Huddersfield Town midfielder still looked the Socceroos best player. His corner set up Jackson Irvine's goal - 7

Mile Jedinak - A rare off day for the skipper, who struggled to take a foothold in midfield. Could have done better defending the free kick that led to Norway's second goal. Withdrawn 61 mins - 5

Mat Leckie - Anonymous on his 50th game for the Socceroos. Offered nothing in attack and should have been taken off a lot sooner. Withdrawn 85 mins - 4

Jackson Irvine - Gave the Socceroos the lead with a powerful header and looked the team's best attacking outlet in his new No.10 role. Failing to cut out the cross from the free kick led to Norway's second goal. Withdrawn 61 mins - 6

Andrew Nabbout - Had the unenviable task of playing a lone role up front in his first game at this level. Looked raw but worked his socks off and never went missing. Deserves another chance. Withdrawn 76 mins - 6

Subs:

Aleksandar Susnjar - On for Wright. Was steady on debut after being moved to centre-half. Could start against Colombia - 6

Massimo Luongo - On for Jedinak. Tidy on the ball and made a couple of strong challenges but couldn't really influence on the game - 6

Tomi Rogic - On for Irvine. Added ballast to the attack and made a couple of decent openings - 6

Tomi Juric - On for Nabbout. Never really got the chance in front of goal to make a difference - 6

Robbie Kruse - On for Petratos. Unable to make any major contribution during his 16-minute cameo. N/A

Nikita Rukavytsya - On for Leckie. Will hope for longer on the field in London - N/A
