The 27-year-old who signed from Ajax Cape Town in 2013 has gone on to make a name for himself at Chloorkop and is arguably the Premier Soccer League’s (PSL) most sought after player after helping his team to several trophies including a Caf Champions League crown in 2016.
However, despite achieving such accolades Billiat believes that there is still much to come from him as he does not believe that he has clinical enough in front of goals.
“I have not been where I want to be,” Billiat said on The New Age.
“The best football I dream about is where I can score more goals than I am doing now,” Billiat said.
“To create more for the team and turn games on their heads because the potential is there. I want to do things that no one can question – to be more clinical when I find myself in good positions,” he explained.
“This is what I am trying hard to do for the club. Even talk of what could happen at the end of the season does not affect that dream because I want to be a whole new Khama in every game. I am playing with good players and that to me means I can get closer to that best level that I want for myself,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe international is currently in his final six months of his current deal at Sundowns, and with Billiat yet to put pen to paper on a new deal there has been much uncertainty surrounding his future. But Billiat to his credit has refused to sulk his way out of the club and is focused on helping Sundowns until the end of the season.
“How is sulking going to help? I am at a team that has great players, great coaches and great fans,” Billiat said.
“I have to do right by them for as long as I am here. I do not even feel like I am in prison as some people would say in a situation similar to mine,” he continued.
“My issue is that I cannot have anyone question my effort. It is out of respect that I keep working hard and fighting for this club. This club deserves my all. I also want to grow. I want to be better. I still have a number of seasons to give to the game and for that to happen, I have to give the game my best,” he expressed.
