Anyansi who made this known in a reception accorded to five members of the team who represented Nigeria and placed second during the African Nations Championship hosted and won by Morocco said they opted against the postponement of their league matches during the players’ absence even when they had reasons to do so.

"Normally, when a team has five players on national duty, it has the right to request for postponement," Anyansi pointed out in a statement from the club.

"But we decided not to because we believed we have a team in you, and you have proven to us that we did not make a mistake in putting together a squad like this.

“We believe we will henceforth seize the opportunity of having most of our players’ available to boost our spot in the league table. It is also a welcome development that some of the injured players are recovering fast while some have returned,” he concluded.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Ikouwem Udoh, Ibrahim Mustapha, Austin Oladapo and Theophilus Afelokhai were the five Enyimba players in the Salisu Yusuf 23 man squad for the competition.
