Enugu Rangers’ Madu predicts more wins after first victory of the season

Enugu Rangers’ Chiamaka Madu believes their first win of the season against Heartland will usher in more.

The Flying Antelopes were beaten by Akwa United and Lobi Stars in their opening two fixtures but they stormed back to life at the Dan Anyam Stadium after they held on for an away victory courtesy of Bright Silas’ stunner in the 10th minute.

“The victory against Heartland was a hard-earned one for us," Madu told Goal.

"We were made aware of what was at stake and the management and the coaches did their part too. We were psyched up on the need for us to avoid another defeat and kick-start the season with an away win if possible

“Heartland also came out strongly thinking that they would get their first win of the season but our coach being a good tactician surprised them with new tactics that they were unable to find a solution to.

“I believe this vital win will open up more victories for us. It has been a tough start for us but the manner in which we achieved this result should ginger us to aspire for more important wins both home and away,” he concluded.

Rangers are 16th in the league table with three points from three matches and they will host Katsina United at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Wednesday.
