Shimba Hills and Waa Girls in Chapa Dimba grand finale

Shimba Hills and Waa Girls booked their places in the Chapa Dimba na Safaricom national final set for March 2018.

Kwale County’s Shimba Hills took the boys' title after edging out Breezeham from Malindi in the Coast regional final while Waa Girls saw off Solwogidi in the Girls final to book the ticket to the national final.

County mates, Shimba Hills and Waa posted identical 3:0 over their respective opponents in the finals staged at the Shanzu Teachers Training College Grounds in Mombasa over the weekend.

The winners each received a cash reward of Sh200,000 and will now proceed to the National finals set for the 24th and 25th March, this year.

Other teams that have so far qualified for the grand finale include Rift Valley’s Kapenguria Heroes and Tar Tar Girls as well as Mwingi Junior Academy and Ngakaa Talent Academy from Eastern.From Nyanza, Ombek Red Devils and Plateau Queens also emerged regional champions while Al-Hayat FC will represent North Eastern region.

Western, Central and Nairobi regions are scheduled to hold their regional finals in the next few weeks.

At the grand finale, the winning team will walk away with Sh1 million each and an opportunity to go for an international training and mentorship camp in London in April 2018.
