ISL 2017: Dimitar Berbatov set to return for Kerala Blasters for Bengaluru FC visit

Kerala Blasters are not in the best of forms right now in the Indian Super League (ISL), having been drubbed 5-2 by FC Goa last Saturday. In addition to that, the team from the south were dealt another huge blow when Dimitar Berbatov went off injured.

The Bulgarian star player went off injured at the start of the game against FC Goa and coach Rene Meulensteen had revealed that he suffered a calf injury.

However, the former Manchester United man went on to give a boost to the fans of the Sachin Tendulkar co-owned outfit by stating on social media that he is set to return in 20 days, just in time for Kerala Blasters' home game against Bengaluru FC on December 31st.

Going LIVE on his Instagram page last night along with Kerala Blasters' team doctor after undergoing an MRI scan on his calf, Berbatov revealed, "I am just back from an MRI scan. I should be back in almost 20 fays. I should be fit probably for the game on 31st of December. The injury is not a big problem."

Berbatov, who has been playing as a midfielder for Blasters this season, also shared the extent of his injury - "I had a Grade 2 muscle injury. It is not as bad as I thought. It is not pleasant but yeah. We have already started recovery."

Before signing off, the 36-year-old went on to state that the FC Goa loss and Manchester United's loss to Manchester City in the derby made it a bad weekend for him. "This (past) week has not been good at all. First, the FC Goa loss and then Manchester United lost to Manchester City."
