I don’t want to talk about Teko Modise, says Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has finally broken his silence following the launch of Teko Modise’s biography which made reference to some startling revelations regarding their relationship during his time at Chloorkop.

Modise spent almost six years at the Tshwane giants helping them to win several domestic trophies as well as two continental cups, but following the veteran’s decision to leave Sundowns for greener pastures where he subsequently signed for Cape Town City, the former Orlando Pirates playmaker revealed in his tell-all book that he and Mosimane did not always see eye to eye, especially in his final two years at the Brazilians.

However, the 53-year-old mentor has refused to be drawn into the saga opting to take a more diplomatic approach.

“I don’t want to talk about Teko… he wrote a book, let him sell the book. Let’s not spoil his book, let’s be nice,” Mosimane was quoted as saying by Phakaaathi.

Mosimane though, did reveal that he did not push Modise out the door at Chloorkop, rather it was the player's choice.

“I want to be the way I was when I got him from Pillars. I didn’t say he must go, he left. I have always said he’s going to stay here (at Sundowns) until he wants to go, but I would never say he must go; he is a legend, and I appreciate all the work he has done… he has done well for the club,” added Mosimane.
