Irate fan invades pitch to abuse own team

If you thought you were a passionate sports fan you have nothing on this Coventry supporter who stormed the pitch to vent his frustrations with his team.

The irate fan's anger spilled over in the second half of his side's disappointing 1-0 loss to Forest Green Rovers in England's Football League Two.

Keanu Marsh-Brown fired the visitors into a first half lead but things turned decidedly nasty in second half stoppage time.

With Rovers intent on keeping possession of the ball and Coventry unable to win it back, the disgruntled fan leapt angrily from the stands and onto the pitch.

The crazed man began shouting and pointing at his own players, obviously . berating them for what he deemed to be an unacceptable performance.

Perhaps more alarming than the scenes unfolding on the pitch, was the fact it seemed like a common occurrence as one of the Coventry players ushered the supporter back to the stands.

The 1-0 loss leaves Coventry, once a Premier League regular, eighth on the League Two table with Rovers jumping off the bottom of the table courtesy of the three points.
