ABS were unlucky to crash out of Federation Cup, says Abdullahi Boje

ABS goalkeeper Abdullahi Boje has lamented his side's exit from this year's Federation Cup after a 4-0 aggregate defeat to Ifeanyi Ubah at the Kwara Township Stadium.

Henry Makinwa's men hopes of reaching the last four got dashed after losing to the Anambra Warriors in the quarter-final stage in Nnewi and Ilorin respectively.

"I'm very disappointed because we could not fight back in Ilorin," Boje told Goal

"Though we did our best to win the second leg against FC Ifeanyi Ubah and possibly overturn the 3-0 goals we conceded in Nnewi, they came with a game plan to stop us from scoring against them and executed it well.

"I think the defeat in the first leg made it difficult for us.

"We were eager and hungry to win but it was unfortunate we could not score from our various opportunities and go beyond the quarterfinal. We were just unlucky to be out of the Federation Cup.

"I must praise the players for the great performance. In all, we gave a good account of ourselves despite the result did not the true picture of what transpired on the pitch."
