Former Gombe United goalkeeper Fabiyi lauds LMC for Sunshine Stars switch

Emmanuel Fabiyi showers encomium on the Shehu Dikko-led League Management Company for helping to secure a move to Sunshine Stars .

The goalkeeper, while turning out for his former club, Gombe United against Enugu Rangers in a Nigerian topflight encounter that ended a 3-3 draw was assaulted by fans of his side.

Thus making him seek asylum from Gombe state and ultimately, the Savannah Scorpions.

He will now don the colours of the struggling Akure side, where he hopes to 'make a positive impact'.

"First, I just have to thank the LMC, most especially the chairman, Shehu Dikko for the professional way the they handled the situation," Fabiyi told Goal.

"I am glad and words can't express how I feel right now. Hospital bills and compensation has been paid to me by the LMC and were very instrumental in me moving to Sunshine Stars. I am sincerely grateful to Dikko and the LMC.

"I was wrongly accused after I was attacked by some fans after that 3-3 draw at home with Enugu Rangers and Gombe United management promised to do a formal investigation.

"I spoke to the club's representative in Jos where they apologised and I told them that I have forgiven everyone, but I asked that the club should make it official in writing but they haven't done that till now.

"I will resume to Sunshine Stars on Monday and hopefully settle in well to make a positive impact in the club's drive to beat the drop. I have always been training and my fitness level is top notch so I am very happy."
