Were the Socceroos robbed of another penalty?

The Socceroos salvaged a draw with Cameroon thanks to a Mark Milligan penalty, but should they have been awarded another one?

Milligan's penalty cancelled out Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa's first-half finish in St Petersburg, where the Socceroos put in a more composed performance but lacked spark.

However the Socceroos looked to have been deserving of another penalty in the 36th minute when Mathew Leckie was brought down in the box during a corner.

The Cameroonian defender had one hand around Leckie's waist and the other draped over his shoulder, but the referee failed to see enough to warrant a spot kick as the Aussie went down.

Aussie fans were bewildered by the no-call.

Once again the Socceroos failed to produce a full 90-minute performance to be proud of.

While Australia bossed possession, Cameroon won more of the battles - and the shot count 19 to five.

The Socceroos now need to defeat world no.4 Chile by two goals to reach the Confederations Cup semi-finals.
