Despite the fact that M-League clubs which have qualified for the 2017 Malaysia Cup will have to play in nine matches in July, new Selangor foreign signing Rufino Segovia del Burgo is unfazed by the prospect of having to undergo the fixtures congestion.

When met by the press following the Red Giants' 3-0 friendly win over Petaling Jaya Rangers (PJ Rangers) on Tuesday, the Spanish forward said that he expects the team to utilise squad rotation to get through July.

"I am okay with it. In July all players (in the Selangor team) are important because everyone needs to play. My teammates are ready.

"I will play but surely with so many matches, I will be tired. All players will be fielded, and I hope in July we win all our matches," said the 32-year old Spaniard.

Commenting on the win; the former Kitchee SC praised the improvements shown by his teammates.

"Today, I see the team displaying a good attitude, playing very well, keeping more of the ball.

"We created more scoring chances, the defence was very good, it's much better," he explained.

In the friendly against the third-tier side, Rufino scored a brace, with the other goal scored by Fittri Shazwan. It was Selangor's first win in their mid-season break three-friendly series; having previously lost to Premier League sides UiTM FC (2-0) and Negeri Sembilan (5-2).
