The latest such incident came off the football pitch, when Cahill joined the Fox Sports coverage of the A-League grand final.

Asked by the presenters to predict who he thought would win, Cahill not only got that spot on, but also predicted how it would happen and who the key figure would be.

"I'm going to go for a draw and I think it's going to go to penalties," Cahill stated before kick-off.

"I think Sydney's going to take it and I think it's going to be Vukovic."

Fast forward a little more than two hours and Sydney FC were lifting the trophy after Danny Vukovic's save saw them triumph over Melbourne Victory in a penalty shootout, following a 1-1 stalemate after extra time.

"The guy (Cahill), flat out is a genius," commentator Adam Peacock declared after playing back the recording of Cahill's clairvoyance.

Bravo Timmy, they don't come much better than that!
