Nakumatt hold Sony Sugar in Nakuru

Nakumatt and Sony Sugar have battled to a 0-0 draw in a Kenyan Premier League match played on Saturday at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru.

Both teams went to the match from previous victories; Nakumatt having beaten fellow newbies Zoo Kericho 2-0 while Sony Sugar had just edged out Thika United 1-0.

This simply meant that the match could have been not easy and it became evident when the teams set foot into the match.

Nakumatt tried to launch attacks in the opening minutes but Sony Sugar kept them at bay to share the spoils at the end of the match.

Kennedy Onyango, however picked a yellow card in the 53rd minute for a foul on Sony Sugar player.

Joshua Oyoo would have put Nakumatt in the lead seven minutes later but he squandered the glorious chance by missing a penalty, which was awarded after Eugene Ochieng’ handled the ball in the box.

With this result, Sony Sugar now have seven points from four matches while the Shoppers are counting four points from a similar number of matches.
