TEAM NEWS: Alexander-Arnold & Woodburn start for Liverpool as Coutinho makes the bench at Stoke

Jurgen Klopp has named teenagers Ben Woodburn and Trent Alexander-Arnold in Liverpool's starting XI for Saturday's game against Stoke City.

It is left-winger Woodburn's first Premier League start for the Reds, but an eighth appearance for the senior side in all competitions, while right-back Alexander-Arnold is on from the beginning for the second time in the top-flight.

With the academy graduates coming into the first-team, Brazilian duo Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino have been named on the bench.

Coutinho fell ill during the midweek draw with Bournemouth, resulting in him being substituted after 65 minutes and kept him out of training the next day.

Firmino played for the full 90 minutes on Wednesday, but will be given a bit of a rest as Liverpool look to improve on their current run of five straight wins in the league.

Klopp's side are looking to maintain their fight for a place in the top four this season and face a side on a three-game losing streak.

Lucas Leiva, who started on Wednesday, is also on the bench, with centre-back Joel Matip starting.

Liverpool, currently third, are now eight points behind Tottenham and just two ahead of Manchester City, who occupy the final Champions League spot.

Liverpool XI: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Klavan, Matip, Milner, Can, Wijnaldum, Alexander-Arnold, Woodburn, Origi
