EXTRA TIME: U13 tournament 'by the sea' in Cape Town
Action was already underway on Saturday 25 March, and will continue on Sunday.
Strandfontein's facilities were unfortunately in a dismal state because of the water restrictions and so they were unable to keep playing surfaces safe and maintained. For this reason the organisers wanted to move it to Parow at the home of Ajax.
This is the 18th year that the tournament will be hosted, with the tourney boasting a rich history of players from Strandfontein AFC, having gone on to play at Absa Premiership, NFD and ABC Motsepe League level.
Clint Fredericks (Ajax), Jody February (Ajax) and Robyn Johannes (Cape Town City) are among the key names. A total of 24 teams will compete this year. Previous winners over the past four years were Fish Hoek (2013), Ajax Cape Town (2014) Old Mutual (2015) and Maties (2016).
