Roger de Sa's resignation has nothing to do with Bafana Bafana, claims agent

Following the abrupt resignation of Roger de Sa from his post at Maritzburg United, speculation is rife that the coach could be joining the Bafana Bafana technical team.

However, De Sa’s agent, Steve Kapeluschnik, dismissed the reports, saying the 52-year-old left the KwaZulu Natal club due to family reasons.

“His resignation has nothing to do with him being in contact with Safa (South African Football Association) or anyone over a coaching job. It's purely for family reasons‚” Kapeluschnik told Times Media .

Kapeluschnik avoided the question when asked if De Sa has ever been in contact with Safa over the Bafana coaching job.

“I'm not going to answer such kind of questions. The bottom line is that Roger's resignation is purely for family commitments,” he concluded.

The Bafana Bafana coaching position has been vacant since December 2016 following Safa's decision to sack Shakes Mashaba.
