Cavani goes airborne with superb Champions League goal

Edinson Cavani kept his hot run of goal-scoring form in the Champions League going with a stunning acrobatic strike for Paris Saint Germain against Ludogorets.

The Uruguayan equalled his best ever tally of six goals in Europe’s premier club competition, courtesy of a brilliant bicycle kick during the French side’s shock 2-2 draw.

Noticing that he wasn’t going to connect with Angel Di Maria’s cross, Cavani turned away from goal and positioned himself where he thought the Ludogorets clearance would land.

The striker’s awareness was matched by his technical brilliance as the ball bounced inside the goal box and he acrobatically volleyed it into the bottom corner of the goal.

Despite Cavani’s heroics, the draw leaves the French champions second in their group behind Arsenal, who thumped Basel 4-1.
