Socceroos star caps off slick move with sweet debut goal

Aaron Mooy’s stock continues to rise after the Socceroos midfielder bagged his first home goal for Huddersfield Town in the English Championship.

The Australian, on-loan from Premier League giants Manchester City, lashed in a second half equaliser for Huddersfield in their league match against Wigan.

Mooy finished off a slick move from the home side that included a series of intricate passes before the ball finally found it’s way to the Australian at the back post.

The 26-year-old made no mistake with the finish as he side-footed the ball into the bottom corner of the Latics goal.

Despite the ex-Melbourne City star’s heroics, Huddersfield were caught on the counter a short time later as Wigan took a 2-1 lead that they hung onto until the final whistle.

The loss means Town are equal on points with Leeds in sixth place on the table, ahead of their next match with Blackburn Rovers.
