City gun Fornaroli scores stunner against Adelaide

Just like they did on Tuesday night, Melbourne City took a stunning early lead, except in Friday night’s A-League clash with Adelaide there was no arguments about the goal.

Where Luke Brattan’s opener against Victory in the FFA Cup semi-final was contentious, Fornaroli’s 11th minute strike against the Reds was all class.

The Uruguayan had one thing on his mind when he picked the ball up on the edge of United’s box, and there was nothing goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic could do to stop his pinpoint shot from curling into the top corner.

It was a thing of beauty from the reigning A-League player of the season, and an ominous sign to the rest of the competition that the sharpshooter isn’t going to suffer from the second season blues.
