Shocking act as fan throws bottle at Barcelona stars

Barcelona’s late win over Valencia in La Liga has been overshadowed by a deplorable incident that saw a water bottle hit Brazilian star Neymar in the head.

The Barcelona forward was celebrating with teammates after Lionel Messi’s penalty sealed a 3-2 win in stoppage time, when a bottle thrown from a home supporter struck him on top of the head.

Neymar was left sprawled on the ground in pain, as other Barcelona players shouted their disapproval at the Valencia fans.

Replays showed the bottle hit more than one Barcelona player gathered in the huddle, before Messi turned around to mouth apparent obscenities at the home crowd.

The win saw Barcelona go top of the table but it was a match they will want to forget, with a serious injury to Andres Iniesta furthering souring the result.
