Bravo howler gives Man City Hart palpitations

Claudio Bravo’s inconceivable red card against Barcelona must have left Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola wondering why he ever chose to let England goalkeeper Joe Hart go.

Bravo was controversially brought into to replace the long-standing City keeper because he was supposedly better with the ball at his feet, but the shot-stopper made a mockery of that assessment on his return to the Nou Camp.

And fans didn’t waste the opportunity to stick the boot into Bravo on social media.

With his side 1-0 down at halftime, the Chilean left City with virtually no way of getting back into the contest thanks a horror sequence of events that started with a woefully misplaced pass.

Like a good sweeper, Bravo raced from his box to snuff out a dangerous Barcelona foray forward, but his horror clearance went straight into the path of Barca star Luis Suarez.

Just when it seemed like it couldn’t get any worse for Bravo, the keeper exacerbated the mistake by inexplicably blocking the Uruguayan’s goal attempt with his hands, despite the fact he was several metres outside his box.

The referee had no choice but to show Bravo a red card, and with a man down, Lionel Messi and co. ran riot to give Barcelona a commanding 4-0 win.
