Maradona restrained by security after charity match blow-up

Diego Maradona might be 55 years-old, but the Argentine legend showed he still brings the same passion and intensity to the football field.

Playing in a charity 'Match for Peace and Solidarity' organised by Pope Francis to raise money for victims of the earthquake in Italy which killed nearly 300 people, Maradona couldn't help himself, nearly coming to blows with Juan Sebastian Veron.

After the pair were entangled in a tackle, Maradona stepped to him as they walked from the field, handing out some choice words for the former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder.

So incensed by Veron's challenge, Maradona had to be calmed down by Brazilian legend Cafu and restrained by security guards on the sideline.

The pair do have a rocky history stemming from Maradona's time as manager of the Argentinian national team, so much so that he couldn't keep the peace in a match organised by the Pope himself.
