US news channel’s epic EPL fail

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich might have a reputation for being ruthless but this latest news report would have been brutal even for him: if only it was true.

An American news channel made the embarrassing mistake of reporting that former USA team coach Bob Bradley had agreed to manage Chelsea, who of course only signed Italian Antonio Conte at the start of the season.

ABC7 in Los Angeles was obviously so excited about Bradley becoming the first manager in English Premier League history, that they forgot to check which club he actually joined.

Bradley has in fact been handed the reins at Swansea, who sacked Italian Francesco Guidolin after a poor start to the season.

You can’t fault the American network for trying, and knowing Abramovich’s penchant for hiring and firing managers, the report wouldn’t have been that unbelievable, if it actually was correct.
