A-League Grand Final fans leave trail of destruction at Adelaide Oval

A large area of Adelaide Oval has allegedly been damaged by Western Sydney Wanderers fans, after Sunday night's A-League Grand Final.

The damage was captured in a photo, posted to the Wanderers Facebook page, with the caption: “Are you as a club going to foot the bill for the destruction your scumbag supporters left in our great stadium. Absolute disgrace.”

These newest allegations adds further salt to the wounds of the WSW club, which went down 3-1 in the decider against Adelaide, and which also faces the threat of sanctions for the lighting of two flares during the match.

It comes barely three months after the club accepted a suspended three-point penalty and $50,000 fine after FFA found them guilty of bringing the game into disrepute.

The punishment was handed down after a small group of away fans ignited about 20 flares during a match against Melbourne Victory at Etihad Stadium in early February.

FFA said at the time the Wanderers needed to ensure such incidents were not repeated for the next 12 months, otherwise they risked having the suspended sanction triggered.
