EPL Preview - Round 26

The top four of the English Premier League meet in a massive weekend of action. Check out 7sport.com.au's preview and tips for round 26.

Match of the round

Arsenal v Leicester City

Leicester City’s bubble continues to inflate after impressive wins over Liverpool and Manchester City, but Arsenal could be the team to finally make it burst.

To do that, Arsenal will need to keep an eye on sharpshooter Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez who have been in exceptional form this season while also breaking down a stubborn defensive line.

In saying that, Arsenal has continued creating chances in double digits throughout the season as well and if they start converting those changes the job could become much easier.

Expect Leicester to maintain their defensive and counter attack approach at the Emirates Stadium while Arsenal will dominate possession in and around their box.

Arsenal desperately need a win to cut Leicester’s lead at the top of the table to two points and they will be looking at the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to provide the key to unlock the visitors.

Whilst moving forward will be the Gunners plan they must also keep tight at the back if they are to be a chance to win.

Arsenal beat Leicester 5-2 the last time they met in a highly entertaining fixture, but things should be different this time around.

Prediction – Arsenal to win a tight match at home.

Manchester City v Tottenham

The second most anticipated match of the weekend pits second against fourth as Manchester City aims to bounce back after a horrid loss to Leicester last weekend.

Despite dominating possession for large parts of the match Manchester City saw themselves down 3-0.

Bad news for Tottenham however is City very rarely lose two league games in a row.

The visitors will not be worried at all by their opponents as they continue to fly under the radar led by the likes of Harry Kane and Deli Alli.

Last time this pair met saw Tottenham romp to a 4-1 victory at White Hart Lane and while they are in better form it will be a difficult task to keep the likes of Sergio Aguero and the like quiet at Etihad Stadium.

Prediction – Manchester City to bounce back with a tight one goal win.

Remaining fixtures

Sunderland v Manchester United – The Red Devils to grind out a win.
Everton v West Brom – Everton too strong against a West Brom side who went to penalties in a FA Cup replay midweek.
Swansea v Southampton – Tough match in Wales with a draw on the cards.
Crystal Palace v Watford – The visitors to get the points in a tough tussle
Norwich v West Ham – Dimitri Payet to lead West Ham to victory
Bournemouth v Stoke City – Stoke to get over Bournemouth
Chelsea v Newcastle – Newcastle is finding their groove and they will trouble Chelsea. Draw at the Bridge.
Aston Villa v Liverpool – The Reds must win if they want to keep their European hopes alive, but a draw is on the cards.
