A goalkeeper has pushed the boundaries of sportsmanship by sabotaging a penalty kick in a German Bundesliga match.

Augsburg goalkeeper Marwin Hitz decided to dig his heels intot he pitch, twisting his studs to damage the area around the penalty spot after his side gave away the spot kick in their clash again Koln.

The referee did not notice the action despite standing directly next to him, with the act working as Anthony Modeste slipped as he took the penalty.

Despite the idea working, Hitz said he regretted it after his side won 1-0.
