Puskas Award nominations revealed

The nominations are in for the coveted Puskas Award for the best goal scored in world football over the past 12 months.

Usual suspect Lionel Messi, alongside fellow Argentinian Carlos Tevez are in the mix, as well as USA World Cup hero Carli Lloyd, who sent the USA into raptures with her spectacular World Cup finish.

Matched up with the superstars sits Fleetwood Towns' David Ball who plies his trade in England's third tier. With a screamer to rival any of his opponents, he stands a decent chance to take out the main prize.

The Award, handed out by FIFA, will be announced next January, with a shortlist to be confirmed on November 30.
