Is this the miss of the football season so far?

Even the world's No.1 football team can every now and again produce a howler.

Belgium, the newly crowned top team in world football, got the job done 3-1 against Israel this morning in Euro 2016 qualifiers.

But not before winger Dries Mertens produced one of the worst misses we have ever seen.

With the goal wide open from the edge of the six-yard box, Mertens somehow managed to direct the ball across the face goal.
