Maradona cuts down grand son with thigh-high tackle

You'd have thought that being arguably the greatest footballer the world has ever seen would mean you have nothing left to prove.

Particularly not at the age of 54.

Certainly not when playing a friendly back garden kickabout, in any case.

And absolutely, categorically not when your opponent for said kickabout is a six-year-old boy.

But that's clearly not how Diego Maradona sees the world, for his family have posted a video on the internet of the great man having a game of one-on-one in the back garden against grandson Benjamin.

When the young lad - who also happens to be son of Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, who is Maradona's son-in-law - embarked on a mazy run upfield, the 1986 World Cup winner decided he must stop the boy at all costs, putting in a ludicrous flying tackle that connected half-way up the thigh.

Brilliantly, Benjamin managed to shrug off the old man's insane lunge and run upfield, rounding a dog who is the grandson of another legend (namely Bouncer, off Neighbours) and sticking the ball in the net - a moment of magic which does not bode well for when Aguero Jr comes up against Kai Rooney at the 2034 World Cup.
