'Stay strong': Football star's troubling news after mid-game scare

Barcelona star Sergio Aguero has reportedly been diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia after a mid-game scare on the weekend.

Aguero was forced off the field before halftime against Alaves in his first home league start, for his new team Barcelona, after clutching at his chest.

The medical team rushed onto the field as teammates and opponents gathered around Aguero during the incident.

Aguero was taken to hospital and was diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia, which is a heart rate disorder, according to SPORT.

The football world were quick to wish Aguero a speedy recovery.

This included from his friend and former teammate Raheem Sterling.

The incident comes after the scary scenes witnessed involving Christian Eriksen at the Euro 2020 tournament.

The football world was left rattled earlier this year when Danish footballer Eriksen collapsed during a Euro 2020 tournament match.

Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed on the field late inhe first half of Denmark's clash with Finland.

He was resuscitated on the field.

Eriksen has since recovered from the incident, but hasn't played a game since due to health rules in Italy.
