'Worst Super Bowl ever': Fans fume as Patriots win again

New England Patriots are Super Bowl champs again, but the manner of their victory has been widely panned.

The Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 to capture an NFL record-tying sixth Super Bowl title on Sunday (local time).

The victory, which moves the Patriots into a share of the all-time mark with the Pittsburgh Steelers, was also a record sixth Super Bowl triumph for Tom Brady, who at 41 became the oldest quarterback to win the championship game.

However it was the lowest-scoring Super Bowl in the 53-year history of the game, as the Patriots claimed their third title in the past five seasons.

After a touchdown-less first-half saw the Patriots take a 3-0 lead into the break, all it took was one TD for the 13-3 victory.

When Sony Michel barged over for the TD with just seven minutes reaming, it marked the latest first touchdown in Super Bowl history.

The 3-0 half-time score also marked the second-lowest scoring first stanza in Super Bowl history.

Only Pittsburgh’s 2-0 halftime lead over Minnesota in the 1975 Super Bowl – won by the Steelers, 16-6 had fewer points.

It was also the ninth scoreless first quarter in Super Bowl history, with the Patriots now involved in five of them (they won the previous four).

It was such a snooze-fest that even Mercedes Benz roasted the game in the stadium named after the company.

The dour game had many fans up in arms.

Here’s how it all went down:
