Our Flag Means Death is making its way to our screens with a hotly-anticipated second season introducing several new characters.
The second chapter in David Jenkins's take on the story of gentleman-turned-pirate Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby) will see Minnie Driver take on the role of the real-life Irish pirate Anne Bonny. Vanity Fair has released a first-look bunch of pictures, including one of The Witcher: Blood Origin star in character as Anne, rocking a green jumpsuit and a brown leather corset.
But Driver isn't the only fresh face joining the Gentleman Pirate's crew and his pal Blackbeard (Taika Waititi) in the upcoming instalment, which still doesn't have a release date.
Black Mirror star Ruibo Qian is set to feature as the mysterious merchant Susan, donning pigtails and carrying a sword in a first-look snap. Alongside Driver and Qian, Kiwi actors Madeleine Sami and Anapela Polataivao are also expected to jump onboard The Revenge in the new season.
Round two will also mark the return of Leslie Jones's character Spanish Jackie, the feared pirate with 19 husbands who sits next to Blackbeard in a newly released image.
Other returning cast members include Con O'Neill as Israel "Izzy" Hands, Vico Ortiz as Jim, Kristian Nairn as Wee John, Joel Fry as Frenchie, Matthew Maher as Black Pete, Samson Kayo as Oluwande, Ewen Bremner as Nathaniel Buttons and Samba Schutte as Roach.
The series was renewed for a second batch of episodes in June last year, an achievement celebrated by creator Jenkins in a statement to fans.
"We felt the show was special while we were making it, but fans' open-armed embrace of the inhabitants of the Revenge makes heading into a second season all the more sweet," he said at the time.
"Thanks to our team at HBO Max, our invested executive producers, and our wildly enthusiastic audience for making another voyage to this world possible."
Our Flag Means Death season 1 is available to stream on Max in the US and BBC iPlayer in the UK.
