Giants coach Julie Fitzgerald will take her national netball league coaching career into a 25th season having extended her contract until the end of 2023.

Fresh off steering the Giants to the Super Netball grand final, where they fell to cross-town rivals NSW Swifts, Fitzgerald has signed a new deal.

The 360-game coach has been instrumental in the start-up and success of the Giants, coaching the side to two minor premierships, two grand finals and three finals appearances in her five years with the club - but a title has proved elusive.

Fitzgerald said she was privileged to have the opportunity to continue to develop the club.

She said that nine of the 10 squad members were local products.

"Whilst we had success in 2021, I feel like we have unfinished business and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve as a club over the next two years and beyond," she said in a statement.

"I'm proud to be a part of this club and what we're looking to achieve."

Jenny O'Keeffe will remain as Fitzgerald's assistant.

Fitzgerald has retained her core group with seven of the minor premiership players signed with the club for the maximum two years, in line with her own two-year commitment.
