A shopper getting stuck into a pack of unseasonable hot cross buns has been left disappointed due to a lack of a key ingredient.
The six-pack of buns, from Woolworths in Albany Creek, Queensland, left much to be desired after being opened at the weekend.
Despite being displayed in a bag advertising it as the fruited variety, the buns inside were seemingly anything but.
An image of three buns from the pack showed there was a distinct lack of fruit, with the shopper claiming there was just one piece to be found in the three buns pictured.
While the matter was of clear frustration to the shopper, others argued she was being a bit over the top in her handling of the situation.
One customer left a sarcastic comment saying he checked the photo for fruit, but “ended up finding a first-world problem instead”.
A Woolworths representative requested the shopper send additional information through so her complaint could be investigated “immediately”.
“We're sorry to see that your three hot cross buns only had one fruit in them. We'd like to forward your feedback to our products team for their immediate awareness but require some additional information to do so,” the representative said.
They informed the shopper they would be eligible for a refund or replacement if they took their receipt to their local store.
“Thanks for bringing this to our attention and we look forward to your response,” the representative wrote.
