With the trailer also came exciting news about a release date, as it was announced that the film will land on the streaming platform worldwide on February 9.

Upgraded’s synopsis reads: "Ana (Mendes) is an ambitious intern dreaming of a career in the art world while trying to impress her demanding boss Claire (Tomei). As well as starring as the lead, Mendes, who played Veronica Lodge in Riverdale between 2017 and 2023, also serves as an executive producer on the film.

Upgraded isn’t the only Amazon Prime project the actress is involved in this year, as she also stars in upcoming romantic comedy Música.

The film, a new spin on the genre, follows a New Jersey man who is "plagued by the music in his head", and trying to balance love, family and his Brazilian culture.

Música, scheduled to arrive on Prime Video on April 4, stars Rudy Manusco, who also writes and directs the film – alongside Mendes, J.B. Smoove and Francesca Reale.

Upgraded premieres on Prime Video worldwide on February 9.
